Job Details
The job of welder was established for the purpose of providing welding services as needed and/or as assigned; assisting in a wide variety of welding activities; and ensuring that tools and materials are maintained in good working order and are available on the job site when needed.
Essential Functions
- Weld structural steel.
- Grin, cut and punch steel pieces.
- Take measurments down.
- Help colleagues with their projects in an attempt to complete all projects in a safe and efficient manner.
- Read fabrication plans.
- Fill out follow up production forms.
- Possess a valid welding permit.
- Coordinate with colleagues or supervisor in order to complete tasks effectively.
- Transport a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the job site.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
- Strictly adheres to all health and safety measures, rules and procedures. Failure to do so can lead to sever disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
- Wear all safety gear at all times in the plant (ex : steel toe boots, protective goggles, safety gloves, earplugs, etc).
Qualifications
- MIG welding experience (training offered)
